Rich Keeble founded EPIC Dad in February 2017, launching a monthly dads and children’s club in Lakenheath, Suffolk. As attendance grew and more fathers benefitted from the support, Rich registered EPIC Dad as a Community Interest Company (11227495) in February 2018 to develop it into a dedicated non-profit.
Since then, the initiative has gone from strength to strength, offering a range of father and family support services across West Suffolk. In July 2019, EPIC Dad purchased its own van, allowing equipment and support items to be delivered to families and community groups more easily.
In recent years, our regular activities have included dads and children’s fun clubs, family games and LEGO clubs, support groups, social evenings, badminton, wellbeing walks, parenting courses, fatherhood workshops, drop-ins, family wellbeing stores, and more.
We’ve partnered with primary schools, libraries, churches, and other community organisations, delivering activities across Lakenheath, Brandon, Mildenhall, Newmarket, and Bury St Edmunds.
In 2020, we started EPIC Dad Wales (a branch of EPIC Dad CIC) in Aberystwyth which runs the ‘Aber Dads’ group supporting local dads, male carers, and their children.
As well as being based in the UK, EPIC Dad is now officially recognised as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation in Florida, USA! This milestone marks a significant step in expanding our work globally, strengthening our commitment to empowering fathers and families everywhere.
In January 2026, EPIC Dad converted from a Community Interest Company (CIC) to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Now that we are a registered charity (charity number 1216517), we look ahead with real anticipation as the work continues to grow in impact, while remaining deeply committed to championing fathers and the enduring importance of fatherhood in family and community life.
